Straight Egyptian Arabians are a coveted breed known for their elegance and heritage. Originating from the Arabian Peninsula, these horses are cherished for their beauty, grace, and versatility. With a history that dates back centuries, Straight Egyptian Arabians possess distinct features such as a refined head, arched neck and high tail carriage. They are proven performance horses in all disciplines from English to Western and endurance. They are revered for their athleticism and intelligence, making them suitable for a range of disciplines including endurance riding, dressage and jumping. Whether in the show ring or on the trail, Straight Egyptian Arabians continue to captivate horse enthusiasts worldwide with their timeless appeal and undeniable presence.
All of the purebred Straight Egyptian horses at DHA qualify as Asil Arabians. Aside from Egyptian bloodlines, also incorporated in the breeding program are some almost extinct Asil bloodlines that come from modern day Syria, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. So, the horses are not considered “Straight Egyptian” but are still completely pure blooded.
Asil Arabians are a prized designation of Arabian horse known for their purity, exceptional beauty, intelligence and athleticism. An Asil Arabian can trace every ancestor in their pedigree to the Arabian Peninsula with no admixture. With a rich and ancient lineage, these horses capture the hearts of enthusiasts around the world. Their traditionally elegant yet rugged conformation, arched necks and deserty heads make them a sight to behold. Whether it’s their enduring loyalty or their versatility in various equestrian disciplines, Asil Arabians continue to leave a lasting impression as magnificent creatures of grace and heritage.

The rich history of these horses is part of what makes them so special. They were cultivated in the toughest desert conditions and their ruggedness was a key component to their and their Bedouin masters’ survival. This fostered intelligence and gentility in them, which is described as an “in the tent” personality as they often slept in the tents with their human caretakers.
