My passion for breeding horses started as a young girl taking horseback riding lessons from an Arabian breeder and endurance racer. She had a couple of Straight Egyptians which I found to be the most elegant of her horses. At an early age, I was enamored with the horses, lifestyle, and sport and knew I wanted to do the same one day. Unable to kick this life dream, I began researching bloodlines, talking to breeders, and eventually read The Egyptian Alternative by Phillipe Paraskevas. My focus then became preserving outcross New Egyptian and almost extinct Asil bloodlines. The specific focus of my program was also fostered by my hoof trimming business, which made me aware of the exquisite structural, temperamental, and hoof quality of Straight Egyptian and Asil Arabians that I treasure. While growing my breeding program and hoof trimming business, I attended the University of Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Science. Because of all my endeavors, I was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award for my graduating class, a true honor. Since graduating, my hoof care business and breeding program have grown. When I’m not trimming and tending to the horses, I enjoy endurance racing, and would also like to get back into Hunter Jumping. I served on the Board of Directors for Al Khamsa Inc and volunteered on various committees affiliated with the organization. I have also written articles published in the Khamsat, a publication of Al Khamsa, as well as done extensive research about rare Al Khamsa lines.
